Designing Weavers Opening at Branch Gallery

I spent a nice evening among fiber art and friends at the Branch Gallery, an offshoot of The Knitting Tree LA.  It was the opening reception for the Designing Weavers' exhibit "Art Looms".

The exhibit will be up through May 21 at The Branch Gallery, 1031 W. Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, CA.  Hours are on Fridays through Sundays, plus some special events.

My piece is the black and white one.  Several people were intrigued with my technique combining double weave and sprang warp braiding.

The gallery, which focuses on fiber art, is a nice space in an industrial area near LAX that is being repurposed into new businesses including art-related ventures.  Several of us met up before the reception at the (aptly-named for us!) Three Weavers Brewing Company, a microbrewery located in the same building complex.
